Jordan Retro 1 2009 Preview

Another one of my personal favorites from the Jordan numbered series. While this has to be the most retro of it's series the Retro 1 has been through a bunch of transformations since it's original release in 84-85. This time around Jordan Brand is going to start us off in 2009 with a bang. Retail anywhere between $100-$120 at best MSRP these will make great kicks to add to the collection.

I might try to snatch a pair of these blue boys and hold off till early summer to crack them out. Material look like a nylon vs the leather that you will see on the pewter and infrared colors. I want to see the infrared in person before I make the decision to cop. From some of the early pictures that I have seen the quality seems to be so so. Expect anywhere from 30+ colors in the retro 1 whether it's in a high,3/4 cut, or even low to drop in 2009. Let's get it in.....

Chris Paul CP3 II

I showed you some early samples of Chris Paul shoes over a month or 2 ago. These are the official pictures courtesy of Jordan23.com. I am really diggin the New Orleans colorway in this shoe. Black with a funky fresh design pattern along the heel that stretches to the ankle. Quilted back, blue neon stitched with a frost bitten speckle sole and top it off with a patent leather toe. Man....the detail and execution that went into this one is bananas!

The blk/blk color will be a dope work shoe...LOL. Both of these will be a general release on March 3rd, 2009. Look forward to seeing these in person. Retail on these joints will hit you for about $122 bucks. Not too bad.

Puma Break Point Collection (Spring 2009)

So for all my Puma lovers out there this is for you. Again, even though I post tons of Nike/Jordan shoes on the blog does not mean I don't take time to respect other brands out there doing their thing.

This is going to be apart of Puma Break point collection due out in Spring of 09. They are going to feature the Puma Clyde and the Puma Steppers. They based the concept of the Break Point collection from the basketball/tennis shoes and used traditonal Wimbeldon colors of Royal Purple and Emerald Green with a little Black, Burgundy, and Royal Blue as well. Notice that the Puma Clyde and both the Stepper still use suede on the outside but the Clyde has a nice hit of leather near the eye lits and tongue. DOPE! Paying attention to detail Puma has my approval.
(side bar) Ya'll know I still despise the all white sole though. LOL

Air Jordan Fusion 6's

So I am personally not a big fan of Jordan Fusions at all. They do get credit on the concept itself but to me some of the finish product lacks execution. Out of the the Fusions that have come out within the last year these seem to look some what decent. So Jordan Brand brings you the Fusion 6. It is a combination on the Nike Air Force 1 and Jordan Retro 6 put into 1 shoe. So it's the best of both worlds for those that are really into Air 1's and Jordan.

My biggest thing is that Jordan Brand is flooding the game with these bad boys every other month like crazy. Not allowing other styles that they drop to even breathe and give a chance to sell. They pretty much are hitting clearance racks with 30 days and mark down like crazy.

If they spaced it out more I think it might build the hype a little more for people that really like these. Either way Jordan is making it do what it do. Expect these to be in the $160 range when they release around the first of the year. This is what I mean though....7 colors to hit all within 3 months. Crazy...

Air Structures Triax 91 Release

Both of these Structures are now available at the retailer Proper in Long Beach CA. A long side of already releasing some of the OG color ways in this shoe, Nike is giving the people something little different this go round. I really like the color pattern the selected. Both with the marble print in the midsole and bright upper colors make for some eye catching kicks.

If you are a fan of air max 90, air max bw, air max 1, type of kicks then you most def need to get you hands on a pair of these. By far I believe this is one of the lighter shoes in the line up, the comfort on the Structures is amazing!! Combination of lighter fabric and mesh at the toe box. Unlike some of the hybrid shoes Nike has out with the "free sole" the classic still remains fresh! Retail should not be more than $95

My Favorite Designer does it again...Phillipe Starck

Teaming up with highly regarded French product designer Philippe Starck, leading wireless company Parrot create a set of wireless speakers. The new “Zikmu” style incorporates a duo iPhone/iPod dock with Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities. Using a NXT flat panel technology, the “Zikmu” will feature a 360-degree system, pushing out premium sound quality throughout an area rather than creating only one “sweet-spot” so to speak. One of the neatest features is the ability to stream music from a computer or hand-held device directly to the speakers. Standing 2.5′ tall with device recharger and remote control, the columns will retail for a steep $1,500 USD, releasing in the Spring of 2009.




If we are truly Sole Surviving out here then even our music can look fly when it's playing! LOL. Phillipe does it again. DOPE!

"808 and Heart Break" Custom Air Force 1

These come from a east coast customizer that goes by the name of MACHE. He has been doing a ton of customs over the past year or so and here is his latest. A customer low top air force one in the theme of Kanye West latest album. These are super sick with the plaid print and colorful back. Check out the tongue on these with the fabric heats!! CAPPY WHERE YOU AT??? I NEED SOME DUNKS DONE UP LIKE THIS!!

Jordan XX3 Ray Allen PE (Player Exclusive)

And I hate Boston but Ray is cool with me. I have not seen him on the court with these on yet but MAN!!!! If these ever drop at the House of Hoops I will have to make a run to the Chi and go and grab these. The color reminds me of the Blk/Green Altitude 13's. DOPE!! Nike Playmakers Part 3 (AF1) Edition

So the homies over at SneakrAddicts got a chance to head over to Niketown New York for the Playmakers event. I really wish I could have been there because it looked like a lot of fun. Reebok Ex-O-Fit Hi SG Straps

So I don't know about you but this whole Kanye/Yeezy theme is starting to get played. So Reebok is going drop these EX-O Fit Hi which reminds me of the Yezzy/Y-3/Supra/whatever else is out there. LOL. These will be out in Feb in about several colorways and will retail for about $90.

Snow Day!

So for all my people across the globe that tune into the site this is how Detroit is rolling today! Super Stupid Snow right now. Schools closed for all the kiddies and some people jobs even closed. This is a early morning shot with about 6 inchs already on the ground with about 3 to 4 more to come. Detroit, as my man Wale would say...."Still Got my Nike Boots!" Gonna definitely need them today baby! Stay warm, Stay Fly!

We've thoroughly enjoyed covering the Detroit Grand Prix in the last two years (2007 coverage, 2008 coverage), but it looks like this will be our last year at the event -- at least for a while. Roger Penske, who played a key role in returning racing to the Belle Isle Park circuit, announced that the race would not return in 2009, mainly due to the economic challenges plaguing Detroit. "There's no reason at this point to have an event that wouldn't be first-class," Penske told AutoWeek. This comes after a tough few weeks for the ALMS in which both Audi and Porsche announced they would be pulling their racing programs from the series. The ALMS schedule has now been reduced to ten races, with the IRL moving to seventeen.

When the Grand Prix first came back in 2007, it was an absolute blast. A full weekend of fun. 2008, they doubled all the pricing for shuttles, parking, and seats. So instead of going the entire weekend, we went for the American LeMans race on Saturday, and skipped out on the Sunday Indy Race.

People pay for entertainment during tough times. They would still definitely pay to enjoy some racing, and this would truely encompass the heart of the "Motor City" admist tough times. But I think a lot of it was because Porsche and Audi cancelled their racing activities for 2009. Also, Honda pulled out of Formula 1 and one of the car companies are scaling back. Fantastic.

S+arck Clear Digi "New Colors"

Last month I reported the the new S+arck watch x Fossil collaboration grey and green color. This month Fossil and Phillipe team up again and bring us the White with Red Crystal and Grey with Orange crystal digi watches.

Both the red and orange color are displays the time in a big block digits. Stainless steel case with a polyurethane strap to make sure not to catch those hairs on the arm (LOL) and a much more comfortable fit for longer wear time. I keep telling people not to sleep on the Phillipe S+arck collaborations. Get familiar!!!

Nike Air Force 2 Wii Edition

As promised I bring to you the Nike Air Force II Ninetendo "Wii" inspired. If you have been following the blog like I know you have this is an edition to Nike game systems packs to be released. These are to be release in Summer of 2009. From the pictures they look like samples so Nike might switch it up a little for the final version. To me, these look like some straight FAKES. XBox 360 and Playstation 3 collaborations turned out pretty good but they could have kept these.

They remind me of the fantastic 4 pack Air Force 1 that dropped a couple summers back when every body and their mom wasd wearing ridiculous fakes colors in them. HAHAHA. Not too impressed but thought somebody out there reading might like.
