Air Jordan 1 AJKO Retro – White – Varsity Red – Black

We saw line sheet sketches of these around Oct of last year and definitely could not wait to see close ups. Even though we have been getting flooded with Retro 1's over the past 4yrs + now these are the AJKO's. For those of you that aren't familiar with these they were real popular back in the day before the slue of Jordan 1 colors back in the 80's. They stayed true to the canvas/leather materials that were used back in the day with the exception of the "vintage" look on the midsole and hint of Jordan Jumpman logos on them. We are still on the fence weather or not we like the whole "Instant Vintage" look Nike has used on their early retros...i.e. outsole, midsole effect. Let us know what you think!

NOT REALLY FEELING THE "INSTANT VINTAGE" LOOK NIKE IS TRYING TO EMPLOY. ONLY INSTANCE WHERE IT WORKED FOR ME IS ON THE VOLT GREEN VANDALS THAT DR0PPED A FEW MONTHS AGO. AND THAT WAS ONLY BECAUSE THE COLORS CONTRASTED REALLY WELL. SNEAKERS AREN'T A FASHION MEDIUM LIKE JEANS OR JACKETS ETC WEAR THE WORN LOOK WORKS WELL AS SNEAKER HEADS PRIDE THEMSELVES ON HAVING CRISPY KICKS. NOW THIS MAY ATTRACT THE HIPSTERS OR NU-GRUNGE FOLK WHO LIKE TO WEAR TRASHED CHUCKS AND VANS.

D- Too funny man...but very true. I understand the direction Jordan Brand was trying to take it but execution with that "instant vintage" looks kills it for us too. I remember when Nike brought back the Terminator Highs like that and it totally through me off. I believe we have 2 additional colors in the AJKO that are suppose to release on top of these. We will keep you posted though.
